As we bring May to a close I want to thank everyone that came to see us at the Suncoast Boat Show in Sarasota last month. This is a smaller show that seems to be on the rise and it is just one more opportunity for us to spend time with you showing you our latest vessels.
Let’s talk about new models! By Fort Lauderdale Boat show in November, we will have prototyped more new models in 12 months than ever before in the 28 years that I have been building Intrepids. We have released the 345 Nomad FE, the 345 SE, the 375 FE, and the 375 SEalready. I have the 407 Nomad FE on the line right now being built with the 407 Nomad SE coming right behind it. We are also on the downside of the prototyping stage on the 345 Valor and that first hull should be hitting the line at the end of July. And those are just the new models that we are physically building right now. Not what I have in the hopper after that! And…… with that being said, I want to give a huge shout out to my Engineering, Tooling, R&D, my amazing craftspeople, and my right-hand man, Sean Wilson, because I have put a ton on their plates and they are true warriors wanting to make all of this happen, as much as you all want us to make it happen. So, stay tuned and watch us on Facebook to see our progress as we bring these amazing boats to life!

And while I am giving shout outs…… I also want to give a big shout out to my Sales Team in Dania Beach (Harbour Towne Marina) being led by my VP of Sales, Alex Rizo, for having the best sales we have had in April in years! Though having all these new models helps, it is nothing without the Sales team representing us as they do. I am truly the luckiest guy in the world to be surrounded by the best Service Team, Engineers, craftspeople, and Sales Team that I could ever ask for. This is what separates us from the rest. Anyone can build a boat, but it is another thing to create an extended family.

Speaking of the Intrepid family, we only have a few spots left for the Intrepid Owners Rendezvous that is happening July 12th-14th at Hawks Cay Resort. It’s going to be a great time and we look forward to spending some time together where we can talk all things Intrepid and I can pick everyone’s brains on future models and give some sneak peeks on things I have coming up. We will have our Intrepid Team there including our service techs to ensure things run smoothly! Even my wife Krysti is excited and looking forward to this event and I cannot wait for all of us to have the chance to hang out! See you there!

We just completed the Sarasota Suncoast Boat Show. It was a great smaller, more intimate venue that allowed us to have comfortable conversations with our existing customers that are part of the Intrepid family and also new customers that are becoming family now. We look forward to attending next year’s show.
Next in our agenda on June 1st is the Miami Dolphins Fins Weekend Fishing Tournament and Saturday Night Dinner party in Marine Stadium, Key Biscayne, Florida. If you’ve never been part of this event in the past, I highly recommend it. This is a wonderful event for a great cause that we truly enjoy being a part of. This year we’ll be fishing in a newly delivered 475SY and hope to see many of you at the weigh-in. Or make plans to attend the Saturday Night Party which is always amazing food, entertainment, fireworks and fun.
In July we will be having our first Intrepid Owners Annual Rendezvous at the beautiful Hawks Cay resort in Duck Key Florida, on July 12th, 13th and 14th, 2019
The response from our owners has been overwhelming. We still have a few limited spots left so please contact Sharon D’Agostino at sdagostino@intrepidpowerboats.com for more information.
All of us at Intrepid wish you a happy and healthy summer of boating.
Thanks,
Alex Rizo
Summer is just around the corner, so I hope that everyone is ready to enjoy this year’s boating season. We are finished with our boat show season for now and look forward to the Intrepid Owners Rendezvous at Hawks Cay in July. It will be nice to be able to have a gathering of likeminded folks with the common goal being to enjoy each other’s company and have some fun boating together.
We have been keeping busy with all kinds of projects in Largo, and the same is true for everyone in Dania. One thing that I’ve been working on is production of video owner’s manuals for the various boat models that we build. I know that when I buy something new, I like to be able to see exactly how to work all options and features. With that in mind, we’ve decided that it will be convenient for us to create video owner’s manuals for the boats we build. Richard Ahl and I spent two days in January recording the various chapters of the manual for our 407 Panacea. Richard is our V.P. of Engineering, so his input was well appreciated when it came to explanations of some of the systems that are on that boat. Mike Plante is an old friend who has a full-service broadcast production company, one of his many achievements includes winning an Emmy Award for his storytelling and shooting skills. His expertise was more than handy. With Richard and Mike helping me I was able to do a video explanation of all systems and features of our 407 Panacea. Click on the video below so that you can all see what our future owner’s manuals will look like.
I welcome any comments or questions about this new format that we will be using in the future. Our focus will be on new models first then we’ll record digital manuals for the rest of our fleet. Mike and I did the video work for our new 375 Nomad early this month, that will be the next of this series of videos that will be released. We’ll move on to the next model after that. I’m excited about this new way to illustrate operation of the systems on our boats. I think it will be a great way to learn about your Intrepid.
Hope everyone had a wonderful Memorial Day holiday. Please be safe on the water and have a great time enjoying your boats. Keep in touch and stop by to say hello if you are ever in the Tampa Bay area.
Happy Boating,
Joe Brenna
