I’ll start by wishing everyone a fantastic Father’s Day…I know I had a great one! My daughter Amanda is an emergency room trauma nurse and had to work, so she and her boyfriend Matt came over earlier in the week to have dinner with me. My son Kenneth and his girlfriend Taylor came over for a Father’s Day lunch and we hung out for a while. With both of my children grown up and living busy lives, it meant so much for them to come visit. It is amazing how fast time flies. I hope everyone else had the same opportunities to see or hear from their children!
We continue to work safe here at the factory and in Dania Beach at our Sales Office at the Harbour Towne Marina. We have maintained this while still working with customers in person at both locations and I want to give a shout out to all of my Intrepid team members. Working safe and making our customers’ safety and convenience our #1 priority is what is most important to us and everyone is doing a great job.
The 438 Evolution is coming along well. The deck is on the boat and the console is rigged and in the boat as well, so we should be sea trialing by the end of this month. We have already sold 5 of the new 438’s and I am really excited for all of you to see the finished vessel. Be sure to follow us on Facebook or Instagram to catch updates on the build as it progresses!

I also want to congratulate Ed and Caridad Lyden for submitting a winning photograph of their beautiful dog Wendy on their 390 Sport Yacht for our recent contest, where we asked everyone to submit pictures of their fur babies aboard their Intrepid. They won $100 toward some Intrepid Powerboats swag from our ship store. We had a bunch of really awesome pictures of amazing dogs on their Intrepids – it was not easy to pick a winner and I would like to thank everyone that participated. We are going to do a lot more of these coming up because I love the pictures. It is awesome to see everyone out there enjoying their Intrepid!
I am extremely happy to report that we set a record for new contracts with deposits in May. After the uncertain months of March and April, it is great to see that May and now June are keeping that same great momentum in sales. And all of us want to thank you for that. Your continued friendship and loyalty allows 300 families to keep food on the table and a roof over their heads and we cannot thank you all enough. Your continued support allows us to continue to support you the same way with first class craftsmanship, customer service, and innovation.
Once again…from all of us at Intrepid: THANK YOU!
Greetings to all, it is wonderful to see that boating is back in full force at the beginning of this summer 2020! We had an amazing month of sales in May and are very grateful for our customers’ loyalty. Boating has always been the best way to spend time with family and friends and being on an Intrepid is still the best way to do it!
Unfortunately, we were left with no choice and have had to postpone our planned Rendezvous in July. Last year’s event was a great success and we want to be sure that our next one is even greater. The ways of the world are definitely getting in the way right now, but we will soon be planning new and exciting things here in our sales office and the factory…so stay tuned!
We were also looking forward to seeing everyone at the Palm Beach and Sarasota shows this year, but those plans were unfortunately cancelled. New plans and procedures for the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show are in the works now, and it sounds like it’s going to be a great experience for all attendees. We are particularly excited about the show as it will be the big debut for our 438 Evolution. Everyone who sees the new vessel will be very impressed by its styling and features. She’s actually on the assembly line now and is already in ship shape!
America’s birthday is just around the corner too! There is no greater nation in this world than ours and we are proud to be building boats that are products of American know-how and craftsmanship. I cannot think of a better time for all of us in the Intrepid family to think of ourselves as the “Intrepid Nation.” We’re looking forward to seeing everyone representing Intrepid Nation out on the water this summer. Enjoy the 4th of July and have a safe and happy holiday!
Our sales office at Harbour Towne Marina in Dania Beach is open for business as usual, and we continue to follow CDC guidelines to ensure everyone’s safety and wellbeing. We always have a variety of boats available to be seen in the marina, so please contact our office to schedule your visit or simply stop by when you’re in town.
Best,
Alex Rizo
Let’s face it, the past few months haven’t been easy. However, boating is a great refuge from the storm of calamities that surrounds us these days and remains one of the few activities that can be enjoyed just as it has in past years! Local waterways are all open and ready for a summer of fun, and there’s no better way to get out into the great outdoors than with family and friends aboard your Intrepid. All age groups can participate in a variety of different activities, including fishing, cruising, diving, or whatever else might suit your fancy… and there’s never been a better time to do it!
I worked with our videographer, Mike Plante, last month on a video version of the owner’s manual for our 345 Valor. He does a great job producing videos that explain the systems and operation of our boats, and this one is no exception. But his greatest talent is putting up with me during all the retakes!
The video can be viewed at the link below in its entirety. We will divide it and present it as a series of chapters when it is completed.
It’s important to check all systems and make sure they’re ready before you head out on the water. A couple of items that sometimes get overlooked are your windlass / anchoring system and EPIRB. Check your anchor and swivel to make sure the rope, chain, and swivel are in good shape and secure. A frayed rope to chain splice or swivel that is worn or bent can ruin a day on the hook. EPIRB batteries are another item that can sometimes be overlooked. Be sure that this lifesaving piece of equipment is fully functional. A safe, carefree summer of boating is much more possible when all systems are checked in advance.
With the 4th of July holiday just around the corner, there will be plenty of opportunities to use your boat and enjoy the outdoors. Please be sure to practice safe boating and social distancing. Have a great time and be safe out on waterways during the birthday celebrations of our great nation!

Happy Boating,
Joe Brenna
